RATTENNEST
In the year 1558 this castle is sold by the children of Balthasar van Immerseel to the knight and nobleman Jacob van der Heyden ). It is because of this deed of sale that we know that the castle already existed in the 16th century. The most famous owners of this castle were without doubt the bankers Spinola. That famous family who originated from Genua used this house as their country house. The family Lambrechts buys the domain in 1807. After the death of Jozef Lambrechts the domain gets allotted. The castle and a part of the original park still remain now. The castle is private property but you can see part of the building from the public road.
