This beautiful maintained castle is only open during the yearly heritage day in September. You can however view this stronghold from all sides from the public road. This castle that was originally built with military purposes is through the centuries turned into a massive residential chateau.
The massive square keep that dates back to the end of the 13th century still dominates the castle. This keep was erected on remains of an even older fortification. During the early 17th century the keep is modernized into an inhabitable building and a fortified farm is added
Charles Joseph Victor Dauvin and his son turn castle D'Houdemont during the 18th century into a luxurious residence. The moat is removed and beautiful garden terraces are constructed.
The castle is still private property but like I mentioned before it can be viewed from the public road.
