On your left you can see a picture taken before WWI. Sometime during October 1914 the fighting armies destroyed the castle. When the war ended, there was nothing left of the castle. In 1925, a new castle was erected. As you can see, it doesn't look anything like the original castle. The last private owner was Suzanne Caroline Maria Amyot Hynderick de Gelcke. She left the castle in 1982. It was then bought by the city Diksmuide. The castle is now used as a Provincial house. You can find the castle on the road Diksmuide Ieper and it is only a few kilometers away from castle De Blankaart that is located along the same road.
