HALLOY

Throughout history several different castles stood on this spot. During the medieval times it was an important stronghold and one of the residences of the Prince Bishop of Leige. Prince Bishop Diederik van Beieren lived in the castle from 1048 until 1075. Jean de Hallois is owner of the castle in 1275. At the beginning of the 14th century it is Jean le Borgne de Halloy whom is lord of the castle. During the 19th century it is the home of the geologist and politician Jean Baptiste d'Omalius d'Halloy. As you can see on the picture nothing is lest of the medieval stronghold. The current chateau is of a much earlier date back to the 17th and 18th century. Castle Halloy is now a hotel and can be used for all your weddings and other parties.
