HOLLAEKEN

Castle Hollaeken was in medieval times a knights court with its own court of justice. From this old stronghold only part of the moat remains. The current castle was built in 1832 on the foundations of the old castle. The castle was in 1938 severally damaged by a fire. Lots of art treasures and furniture were devoured by the flames. The castle was later restored in its original state. Hollaeken is private property but can be viewed from the public road.
