Hof Mertens also known as Gulden Poort is now used as the police office of Ekeren. You can argue if this is actually a castle and to be honest technically it isn't but it's a nice building so I am adding it anyway. It was built by Clement Mertens in 1884 and although it is now situated in the middle of town back then as you can see on the old picture it was standing in a nice park. The domain was bought in 1920 by the owners of the de Beukelare factories and they immediately divided and sold the domain in building lots and sold the chateau itself to the town of Ekeren who used it as city hall, justice of the peace court and finally police office.
The building in neo-Flemish renaissance style can be found in the center of Ekeren.
