MOELAND
Castle Moeland is cramped between modern buildings of a hospital and it borders a busy road. I'm sure that in 1776 when mister H. van der Sare choose this spot to build his
castle it was a more tranquil place. The castle is now part of the hospital and this means it is in perfect condition. The castle is sometimes open to the public and on these
occasions you can visit the right wing which is completely decorated in Egyptian style. It was Knight A. de Schoutheete de Tervarent who transformed this wing of the castle
into an Egyptian wonder in 1866. The Knight sold the castle after the passing of his wife to a nun-congregation who started the hospital. Like I said you can sometimes
visit the inside but you always can view the outside.
