The castle farm of Samart dominates the small hamlet of the same name. The castle was built between the 16th and 19th century. The oldest part dates back to the year 1552 and was erected by the d'Auxbrebis family. Around 1575 the domain went to Glimes the Count of Brabant. A stone Blazon on the old court dating 1667 says Glymes T'Seclaes indicates that the family was still owner of the estate in the 17th century. During the 18th century it was property of the De Baudrenghein family as another blazon dating 1736 indicates. Not much is known about the 19th century until 1880 when notary Eugene Gerard buys the castle farm. The family Francis who are the heirs of Gerard sell the domain in 1970 to Madam George who is married to mister Galdini. The current owner Mister Gevaert buys the estate in 1991. The oldest part is the 16th century square tower that was built by Jacques Auxbrebis. The barns and other addition were built throughout the next centuries. The castle farm of Samart is beautifully restored, is private property but can be viewed from the public road.
