In the little village of Sautour you can admire the remains of the once might stronghold by the same name. The seigniory of Sautour was property of Morielme in the 12th century and the Conde in the 13th and 14th century. The castle itself dates back to 1155 and it was under the command of the Prince bishop of Liege. The castle lost it military importance in the 16 century and was abandonned in 1555 when the new stronghold of nearby Philippeville was finished. Throughout the centuries a village was build inside the curtain walls of the old stronghold with the stones from the decaying castle. When you walk through the old village you still can see a lot of the remain of this old fortress.
