This castle that you can find behind the church of the village Boekhoute was already mentioned in 1410. Although back then it was probably not more then a manor. It was not until 1580 that documents talk about a castle. It was in 1774 publicly sold for 530 pound. In 1933 it was restored by the famous architect Valentin Vaerwijck, it was with this restoration that it got it current looks. You can view this cute castle from the public road. You can rent the castle for all kind of events such as weddings.
