The lords of Tinlot were part of the feudal court of Liege. The fief belonged successively to the families of Ourthe de Fraiture (1323), Joswin of Flémalle at the beginning of the 15th century and Blehen of Abée in 1514. Then it went to the Eynatten family who kept it in possession until the late 19th century.
The current castle is a reconstruction of an early seventeenth century predecessor. It is foremost a romantic 19th century restoration of the old feudal castle. The remarkable chapel founded by Lord Woot Wathieu of Tinlot has beautiful stucco done by the famous artist Jean Delcour. You can find the castle in the middle of the village Tinlot.
