TORREELEN
Once upon a time there stood a big castle on this spot. In 1640 the castle was struck by lightning and burned down. The only thing that remained was three towers and some wall fragments. Two of the three towers were later incorporated in the castle farm that we can still admire today. The towers were made shorter during WWI. The moat that surrounded the original castle is still there. The castle farm is private property and cannot be visited but you can view it from the public road. It is situated near the castle Beavoorde.
