Across the street of castle d'Exaerde you will find the Vleug. This building that is part of the gate building of a farm was built between 1495 and 1508. It was used as an observation tower for castle Ter Ham in Steenokkerzeel. The owner of the Vleug and the Lord of Steenokkerzeel were brothers-in-law. The farm where it is part of has buildings dating back to 1360 and 1536 with some alteration that where done later. You can find the Vleug in Humelgem a small borough of Steenokkerzeel. The tower was beautifully restored in 2000.
