The imposing castle of Wegimont is constructed in Louis XIV style. The oldest parts of the castle dates back to the 15th or 16th century. Nobody really knows the state of the building that was here before the castle. Was there just a forest, planes or a simple farm transformed in a castle?
Of a description of 1552 we know there was a tower a house a garden, meadows, hedges etc. During the 17th and 18th century the owners decided to construct a castle of more importance. The castle always served as a house of pleasure and never as a fortress. The tower to the east has an inscription “Anno 1614”. The entrance gate is decorated with the coat of arms of the Outremont family.
The castle is now the centrepiece of the Provincial domain de Wegimont.
